The next major update for WordPress has just been released, WordPress 3.7 nicknamed Basie in hour of Count Basie. WordPress 3.7 brings with it a lot’s of new features as well as the usual security and stability updates. Below is a break down of some of the big features this time around.
Automatic Updates
Perhaps the biggest and most sought after update, you can now set WordPress to automatically update whenever a new update is released. It will only update for the minor releases e.g WordPress 3.7 to WordPress 3.7.1 and not 3.7 to 3.8. The update process is now also much more secure with even more checks and safeguards to ensure no issues when you update.
Strong Password Recommendations
Security is always a big concern and with recent attacks on WordPress sites it pays to have a strong secure password. WordPress now has a built in password recommendation tool to make sure you and your users are using secure password.
Better Global Support
Local versions of WordPress will now receive better support and faster translations. WordPress will also automatically update when new translations are available saving much time and annoyance if English is not your preferred language.
Improved Search Functions
Making search with WordPress more relevant and efficient.
Enjoy the updates, perhaps one of the last you will have to manually install!
