WordPress 3.8
It doesn’t seem long since WordPress 3.7 was released, now we’ve already been treated with WordPress 3.8. The new version was released today and has several new and exciting upgrades. Here’s a quick run down of what you can expect in the latest version.
Admin Redesign and colour schemes
The first thing you’ll notice is the new style of the admin back-end. Including newly designed vector based icons and different font. You can also easily change your colour scheme now, with 8 different styles to choose from. To change colour scheme just to go to your user profile page and make your selection there.
Theme Management
Themes are now much easier to see with larger thumbnails and screenshots of each one. Making it easier to browse if you have a lot of themes in your library.
Widget Area Management
The widget management page has also gone through some changes, it’s now easier to see what widgets are enabled and what widgets are inactive.
New default theme
There’s a new default theme available now, called, yep you guessed it ‘Twenty fourteen’.
WordPress dashboard
The main dashboard now has less widgets as the default and is a lot cleaner looking.
Of course there are also lot’s of other tweaks and changes under the hood, which you can read about at the developers pages of the wordpress.com website.
Let me know your thoughts on the new version, anything you don’t like?
