The long awaited WordPress 3.5 update has arrived today and brings with it lots of cool new features and fixes.

Here’s a quick run down and video from WordPress showing you some of the great new features;
– Perhaps the biggest new feature for users is the new media manager. Allowing much simpler uploads of images and video.
– A new default theme called Twenty Twelve that is both responsive and clean.
– The dashboard now supports HiDPI (Retina displays).
– Users can now import content from Tumblr.
– Simple support for Instagram, SoundCloud and Slideshare embeds.
As with all big updates there’s also a ton of fixes and updates behind the scenes. These updates will make WordPress more effecient and easy to use for users, helping WordPress to secure itself as the top content management system and blog platform available.
